A THREE-DAY PHOTOGRAPHY MASTERCLASS & WORKSHOP

Perry opens his world to a small group of photographers, be they amateur, professional or just starting out. Over three days in Connemara Perry will share insights and knowledge from his forty plus years of making pictures to help participants unlock their creativity, and advance their photography skills and techniques.
This three-day immersive workshop will be structured as a working laboratory with a focus on each participant’s work, exploring how best to develop their work, while also helping them to plan for the future. Participants should bring a camera and ideally some samples of their work. If you are working on a project or an idea for a book or just trying out some new ideas Perry will be very happy to review and discuss in detail reflecting on how you might best proceed.
Perry will spend much of the first day sharing and discussing his work and methodologies. He will revisit locations where his pictures have been made including his Connemara shoots with Helena Christensen for British Elle and with Cecilia Chancellor and local casting for W magazine. This W magazine shoot, with legendary creative director Dennis Freedman, led to Perry shooting campaigns for Ralph Lauren. Perry will reflect on how photographs he made of his Connemara neighbours became inspiration for international campaigns. The first day will also be spent exploring possible locations for the second day’s shoot. Perry will discuss the importance of preparation and how every stage helps develop the story.
On the second day there will be two models on hand along with stylist, hair and make-up. Everyone will have the opportunity to shoot in whichever way they would like: be it making portraits, fashion pictures, figures in the landscape and/or just landscapes.
The third day will be spent editing and reflecting on the photographs that have been made looking at what participants had set out to achieve and what they feel they have achieved.
This is an immersive exchange between a world-renowned photographer and a small group of ten people committed to the craft. Perry will be happy to discuss his many books and projects from over the years including Pony Kids, 7 Reece Mews: Francis Bacon's Studio and Paddy & Liam. Dinners will be an opportunity to reflect on the day's work and the world of photography.

Accommodation
The Masterclass and Workshop will be based at the historic Doon House overlooking Cashel Bay on the Wild Atlantic Way. Set within 60 acres of private grounds, accommodation will be provided in the house and on the estate. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Additional nights accommodation - Thursday 15th and/or Sunday 18th can be arranged for an additional charge.

Price does not include flights, transfers or any travel to/from Connemara.
A 50% deposit secures your place. The balance will be due 30 days before the workshop commences.
